5. Infiniti Q50
Jon Snow loves it, and so should you. The Infiniti Q50 was updated for 2016, and its size slots it between compact and midsize luxury sedans. Like Acura, it’s a premium model from a mainstream brand – in this case, Nissan. That means you won’t have access to the upper tier of options like the Mercedes and Jaguar.
That said, the Infiniti Q50 is a car you’d be satisfied with. The 4-cylinder is all right while the 6-cylinder is exemplary. A hybrid model is also in the lineup. No matter which powertrain you choose, you can pair it with AWD. That’s good, because “winter is coming.”
4. BMW 5 Series
Choose the coupe, sedan or Gran Turismo hatch. Select the turbocharged 4-cylinder, the twin-scroll 6-cylinder, or the turbo V8. Heck, even a turbo-diesel and a hybrid powertrain are in the 5 Series lineup. For midsize sedans, there’s no one that offers you more choices. Although we’re not sure if that’s good or bad.
The interior is highly refined, from the real wood accents to the display screen meticulously mounted high on the dash yet without obstructing your vision. You can add the M Sport package, Gesture Control, even soft-close doors. It’s a popular car for a reason.
3. Lexus ES
If you’re looking for an iconic luxury car that isn’t German, the Lexus ES is at the top of your list. Available with a 268-hp V6 in the ES 350 or a 200-hp hybrid powertrain in the ES 300h, you’ll find it’s exciting to drive as well as fuel efficient. But there’s more.
