8. Mercedes-Benz E-Class
This outstanding car has four variants that draw in different prospective buyers. There’s a classy sedan, a flashy convertible, a stylish coupe and a utilitarian wagon. Between the model and the choice of a turbocharged 4-cylinder, a V6 or a V8, not to mention an AMG, there’s a ton of options.
Now, there’s still different trim levels to consider. You can pick an E300, an E300 4MATIC, or an E43 AMG sedan. There’s an E400 and E400 4MATIC coupe, and an E550 coupe. There’s an E400 and E550 Cabriolet. And then there’s the E400 4MATIC wagon. Good luck picking just one.
7. BMW 4 Series
The BMW 4 Series has been a great car for the popular German car maker. It’s available in the two styles you’d expect, the sedan and the coupe. But wait – there’s also a Gran Coupe, a 5-door hatchback variety.
It’s like a 3 Series on steroids. The 4 Series has either a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder or a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder with optional xDrive AWD on either one. And although BMW styling has fallen a little behind the competition, you’ll never regret the thrilling performance when you’re behind the wheel.
6. Acura TLX
Acura has carved itself a loyal following. It’s easy to see why with the Acura TLX. Comparatively, it’s extremely well-equipped for its price point. The Acura TLX is a driver’s car, meaning its performance will probably draw you in more than its luxury.
You’ll be able to choose either a 4-cylinder or 4-cylinder option, matched with your choice of front-wheel drive or Acura’s outstanding Super Handling All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD). And while it’s a fantastic car for the price, it won’t stack up in features in the upper end of the Benzes and the Bimmers.
