The Jaguar XJR575 has a top speed of 186 mph
Jaguar Gets Aggressive With XJR575
Coventry, United Kingdom – The Jaguar XJ just became so much more compelling, thanks to the new XJR575. This hopped-up version of the luxury sedan boasts some serious performance chops. In fact, the Jaguar XJR575 can reach 186 mph, if you have access to a track.
High-Speed Interview
To get people talking, Jaguar decided to have a high-speed interview with Wayne Burgess, one of the company’s designers, conducted by Amanda Stretton. The catch is the entire exchange takes place in the XJR575 as it accelerates hard from 0 to 186 mph.
Stretton is a TV presenter and a race car driver. That fact alone makes her a great fit for this unique interview. It only takes the Jag 44 seconds to reach the top speed. In other words, the interview is short, and that’s the whole point.
Still, Burgess, who’s the Production Studio Director and SVO Projects Director for Jaguar, threw out plenty of fiery adjectives to describe the XJR575. Watchers are to understand this car is about performance first and foremost.
Boosted Performance
As the name suggests, the Jaguar XJR575 pushes out 575 horsepower. That’s 25 more than the regular version of the sedan. Thanks to some tweaking of the supercharged 5.0-liter V8, it also puts out about 516 lb-ft of torque.
With that kind of power, this flagship rockets from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds. While there are cars which make that dash quicker, for its size, the Jaguar XJR575 puts on an impressive performance.
Bespoke Design
As a true Jag, the XJR575 isn’t just about performance. The British automaker will offer all kinds of bespoke finishes.
The options start with two finishes for the body. Velocity Blue and Satin Corris Grey set the car apart from regular versions of the XJ. Both colors were created by Special Vehicle Operations.
The group also crafted different side sills and a unique front bumper. They also added a rear spoiler and lower air intakes. It also wears more modern badges, plus twin hood louvres. Reserved only for this flagship model are 20-inch Farallon gloss-black wheels, which frame red brake calipers.
You might be able to fly under the radar with the Jaguar XJR575, but people who know Jags will immediately spot the differences.
More bespoke details grace the interior. Embossed door sill plates and diamond-quilted leather upholstery elevate the space, adding upgraded luxury.
Jaguar proudly declares that despite the high top speed and blistering acceleration, you can still enjoy plenty of serenity while cruising around in this sedan.
